Mikis theodorakis theodorakis - manos hadjidakis hatzidakis 14 instrumental sirtaki

But let’s go back to the moment when I first got the song “The Secret Beach” in my hands. It was in the Student Theater of Helsinki University, the first experimental and political theater in Finland. The time was the late 1960s.
I didn’t know anything about Mikis Theodorakis. I was studying classical piano at the Sibelius Academy. I wanted in to the theater and as an active member of the theater, in the spirit of that epoch, I was also becoming politically aware. We were rehearsing a political cabaret about Greece called “Cabaret about the Democracy”. We had Berthold Brecht, we already had the Finnish political cabaret songs. We had political program songs, pamphlet songs. But -The Secret  Beach-, which was included in the cabaret, was totally different. Where was the political message that put the composer in prison? There was nothing political in the song! A lyrical masterpiece written by the Nobelprize-winner Georgios Seferis!
